Hieronder de Notice Of Race zoals uitgestuurd door Muiden voor de Zuiderzee Regatta. De Flying Dutchman zal samen met de Pion, FF65 en Draak op het IJselmeer varen, waarbij de FD strijd zal gaan om de Prins Bernard prijs.

ZUIDERZEE REGATTA 2003

 

The Commodore and Flagofficers of the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeil- & Roeivereeniging (Royal Netherlands Yacht Club), in close cooperation with the Class Associations, have the pleasure to invite owners of yachts in the

Pion class

(Dutch Championship)

FF 65 Class

Dragon Class

Flying Dutchman Class

 

to enter in the 2003 edition of the Zuiderzee Regatta to be sailed on the IJsselmeer near Muiden on Friday August 29 (Pion), Saturday August 30 and Sunday August 31, 2003

NOTICE OF RACE

 

1 Rules

The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the Royal Netherlands Yachting Union (KNWV) to the RRS, the KNWV 'Rules for Championships' (1997) section I and III (only for the Pion Class), the rules of the classes involved, the Notice of Race except as any of these are changed by the sailing instructions, and the sailing instructions.

 

2 Entries

2.1 Eligible boats may be entered by completing the entry form published by their class associations before August 25.

2.2 Eligible competitors shall meet all ownership, class membership and boat measurement requirements as laid down in their class rules and must have paid the entry fee before becoming official competitors.

2.3 The entry fee is Euro 80 for the Pion class, Euro 45 for the Dragon and FF Euro 35 for the FD and must be paid in cash or via pin at the Regatta Office upon arrival.

2.4 Late entries will be accepted, but will be charged at Euro 20 extra.

 

3 Sailing Instructions

The sailing instructions are available at the Regatta Office on Friday, August 29 2003, 08.00 hrs – 10.00 hrs and 18.00 – 20.00 hrs and on Saturday August 30 2003, 08.00 hrs – 10.00 hrs

4 Measurement requirements

Each yacht must present a valid measurement certificate upon registration.
Yachts and crews may be inspected during the regatta at the discretion of the Race Committee.

 

5 Registration and Racing Schedule

Pion class:

Friday August 29 2003

08.00 – 10.00 hrs: Registration and presentation of certificates
12.00 hrs start of long distance race (20-25 NM)

Saturday August 30

9.30 hrs: 1st start of races 2-5

Sunday August 31

10.00 hrs: 1st start of races 6-7

Last warning signal not later than 15.00 hrs on Sunday.



Other classes:

Friday August 29, 2003 from 18.00 – 20.00 hrs and
Saturday August 30, 2003 from 08.00 – 10.00 hrs: Registration

Saturday August 30

11.00 hrs: 1st start of races 1-3
12.00 hrs: 1st start of races 1-3 for Flying Dutchman

Sunday August 31

10.00 hrs: 1st start of races 4-5

Last warning signal not later than 15.00 hrs.

 

6. ourses and Racing Areas

The course configuration will be of the ‘upwind-downwind type’, with upwind spreader buoy and possibly downwind gate.

The Flying Dutchman Class will sail a triangular course.

Courses will be laid for the expected duration of max. 75 minutes per race.

 

7 Scoring

The Low-points scoring systems, Rule A4, will apply with 7 races scheduled for the Pion class, 5 races for the other classes. A minimum of 4 races will constitute a series. If 5 or more races are completed, the worst score of each yacht shall be discarded.

 

9 Prizes

here will be prizes for the first three competitors. The winner of the regatta in the Pion Class acquires the title ‘Dutch Champion 2002’.

The winner in the Flying Dutchman Class acquires the ‘Prins Bernhard Wisselprijs’.

 

10 Liability and Insurance

All parties involved in the organization the running of the Regatta shall not accept any liability for any accident, injury, damage or loss of personal property or otherwise to yachts, third parties and participants, before, during or after the regatta.

The safety of a yacht and its entire management including a third party liability insurance, with a minimum cover of Euro 680.000,- per event or the equivalent in the currency of the country of registration of the yacht, shall be the sole responsibility of the owner or the competitor racing the yacht.

 

11 Haul out restrictions

Yachts may not be hauled during the regatta after the first race and must be moored at the assigned locations. In case of serious damage, hauling requires prior written permission of the Race Committee.

 

12 Social

A dinner will be organized on Saturday evening August 30 at the Clubhouse of the KNZ&RV.
Tickets are available at registration and will be charged separately.
