47th INTERNATIONAL EASTER REGATTA 2003 APRIL 19th - APRIL 21st, 2003 AT LAKE "LOOSDRECHT" FOR
THE FLYING DUTCHMAN, FLYING JUNIOR, CONTENDER, FINN, LASER, LASER MASTER, LASER RADIAL, LASER 2, 470 AND THE STAR Organised by the Royal Yacht Club "Loosdrecht" (KWVL)
The Royal Yacht Club "Loosdrecht" has a long experience in organising races during Easter. The confined waters of lake "Loosdrecht" offer an excellent opportunity to start your sailing season. No extreme conditions and the starting area is always close to the harbour. 1. Rules The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the Royal Netherlands Yachting Union (KNWV) to the RRS, the relevant Class Rules, this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions. The Sailing Instructions may alter the rules in this Notice of Race. 2. Entries Eligible boats may be entered by completing registration with the organising authority. The annexed entry form can be used for this. 2.1 Entries can be made on the annexed entry form and must be sent to the following address: Koninklijke Watersport Vereeniging "Loosdrecht" Oud Loosdrechtsedijk 151 1231 LT Loosdrecht The Netherlands Phone.: (+31)(0)35 582 4593 Fax.: (+31)(0)30 657 2739 e.mail: wedstrijden@kwvl.nl website: www.kwvl.nl 2.2 Entry closing date: April 14th, 2003 2.3 Boats not having registered before the closing date can not enter the Easter Regatta. 2.3 If no more than 7 boats have entered in a particular class before the closing date, the Race Committee may decide to cancel the races for that particular class. 2.4 The entry fee is € 30,-- for the Finn, Laser, Laser Master and Laser Radial and Contender; € 40,-- for the FD, FJ, 470 and Star and Laser 2. The entry fee must be paid cash on registration. 3 Changes in the Class Rules No changes in the class rules will be made. 4 Sailing Instructions The sailing instructions are available at the Regatta Office from April 18th at 17:00 hrs. 5 Registration and Racing Schedule Registration of competitors will take place on April 18th from 17.00 till 19.00 hrs and on April 19th from 09.00 hours. The starting order of the classes is: Star, FD, 470, FJ, Finn, Contender, Laser 2, Laser, Laser Master, Laser Radial Depending on the number of entries, the start of the Laser, the Laser Master and the Laser Radial may be combined. Rule 26 (RRS) will be applied. The time between the warning signal and the starting signal is 5 minutes. The races are scheduled as follows: Time of the warning signal of the first starting class: Race Day and date Time of warning signal 1 April 19th, 2003 11:00 2 April 19th, 2003 As soon as possible after race 1 3 April 20th, 2003 11:00 4 April 20th, 2003 As soon as possible after race 3 5 April 21st, 2003 11:00 No starts will be made on April 21st after 14:00 hrs. 6 Course The course configuration will be triangular (traditional Olympic course). The traditional Olympic course can be extended with an extra triangular. Due to local circumstances the length of the course can vary. 7 Scoring The Series will be scored as provided in Appendix A of the RRS using the Low Point Scoring System. If 5 races have been completed the worst score in a race will be excluded. 8 Prizes Prizes will be awarded to each member of the crew as follows: if 10 or less boats compete 3 prizes, 11-20 boats 4 prizes, 21 or more 5 prizes. For the Flying Dutchman class and the Finn class Challenge prizes in the form of a large Easter Egg containing a half model of the class in question are presented to the winning crew. For the Star class a half model is made available. All challenge prizes will remain at the Royal Loosdrecht Yacht Club. 9 Information For more information you can contact: Dick Groothuis
